Hanging by a Thread is about the story of two characters trapped in a cycle of inter-dependance, and a large animated bed. A dying old woman has knitted herself into her bed, and as she dreams, she knits a landscape, animals, a river and mountain. She is cared for by a girl who has developed a secret romantic obsession with a man who only gives her flowers. As the bed develops its own powerful will, the old woman and the girl are absorbed into it, and emerge in different forms, eventually breaking free.
Hanging by a Thread is an hour long small scale touring show with two performers.

"...I DOUBT IF THE IMAGE OF A BEDSPREAD AS A WORLD, OR A POWERFUL LANDSCAPE HAS EVER BEEN GIVEN MORE VIVID THEATRICAL EXPRESSION THAN IN THE DING FOUNDATION'S 'HANGING BY A THREAD' ..." - Joyce Macmillan - The Scotsman
